FRANCOIS PIENAAR

The only sportsman I have ever represented, normally not something I would enjoy – so limited to only one - is Francois Pienaar, the South African Rugby Team Captain who won the Rugby World Cup in 1995 - and was the second half of the most iconic photograph ever taken in sport – with Nelson Mandela

Francois is an incredibly charismatic character, much more so than portrayed by Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood’s film, Invectus - which was about the world importance of South Africa winning the Rugby World Cup in 1995. This was a pivotal point in South African history and played a huge part in unifying the country.

I created and managed his book deal with HarperCollins, The Rainbow Warrior and also his career as a revered Rugby World Cup pundit for ITV.

I still arrange speaking engagements for him.
